Officer Updates
Greetings Northeast Badminton friends,
I want to welcome you to our new, rejuvenated Northeast Region website! It's been a long time coming, but we are finally able to launch a more current and interactive website that aims to provide timely and interesting information to players, organizers, officials and coaches. We plan to have up-to-date event listings, pictures, and blogs so that you will have the resources you need to find badminton activities anywhere in the region. We are also launching a new listing of local clubs in an effort to make it easier for players to find a game wherever they are in the Region.
A few dedicated volunteers have worked hard to get the website back up and running - but the success of the website is up to all of you. We hope that players, coaches, officials, and others involved with badminton will take the initiative to supply pictures, articles, information on resources, blog entries and other postings so that we can keep the website current and interesting. We also need your help in keeping club listings and other postings on the website up-to-date and accurate.
I want to especially thank Eric Miller, Peter Teuben, and Kim Kramer for the many hours they have spent working on getting the website re-launched. Thanks also to Beth Sopka and Yvonne Chern and for all of their input into the website process, including especially the event calendar that Yvonne has been maintaining.
I have watched badminton in the Northeast region for more years than I care to admit, but I can't remember a more exciting time. Over the last few years we have seen the launch of several new dedicated badminton clubs, along with the rapid growth of some new large and very active clubs. These clubs have joined the strong base of traditional clubs to generate a raft of new badminton activities, ranging from tournaments to clinics to demonstrations. The result has been an exciting new springboard for growth in the region.
I am confident that the dramatic progress we have seen in recent years will only accelerate in the future, and I'm looking forward to working with all of you to achieve this goal!

What a great opportunity to share some of my thoughts with the Region! I am very pleased with all the great developments that are happening everywhere ... new clubs, new energy, new events, new volunteers, ... :-D And the best part is that while we all work in our own areas we are working supportively together throughout the Region.
Keep an eye on this space....
Beth
