TOP NORTHEAST TEAMS BATTLE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP ON SEPT 17-18  In 2009, the DC Team won the Championship. But in 2010, the DC Team dropped to fourth place while Boston Metro led by Neil Davies took the top spot followed by newcomer CP Badminton while Maugus Club was in third place. Which team will be crowned the 2011 Champions in Boston Invitational Team Tournament that will be held at Boston Badminton (Westborough, MA) this weekend? Though little known, this tournament is well loved and anticipated by the top players in the Northeast Region as they come together for this fun annual competition. This well-organized tournament started more than 10 years ago, under the leadership of USAB Tournament Director Chris Lawrence (of Boston Open fame) who is assisted by BWF Referee Charlotte Ackerman and a number of northeast umpires. Six teams will see action this year: Boston Metro led by Neil Davies, CP Badminton led by Albert Toe/Zaw Win, DC led by Amy Nguy, University of Laval (Canada) led by Etienne Couture, Maugus Club led by Ajit Umrani/Andy Chong and New York Badminton led by Alex Jacob.
