 Region 1 Hosts 2008 Junior Nationals
Marblehead Youth Badminton in Massachusetts offered a scene of great excitement, enthusiasm and triumph as it hosted this year’s Junior National Badminton Tournament.  From June 28 through July 2, the tournament brought together 193 players from 11 states, competing in every age group from under-9 to under-22.  The East Region was well represented, with 62 players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Massachusetts.  [more...]
 
Five Northeast Juniors Going to Pan Am Junior Championships
Five Northeast Badminton juniors are preparing to compete in the individual event of the upcoming Pan Am Junior Championship to be held in Guatemala City on July 17-20.  The five juniors, the only participants outside California, have won a number of high level awards in various national and regional junior tournaments to earn their spot in Guatemala.  [more...]
 
2008 Wilson Boston Open Tournament
The 2008 Wilson Boston Open Tournament took place from Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 4th at the Rockwell Cage, at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This was the 12th year of the tournament, which has grown to become one of the most prestigious USAB ranking tournaments in the nation. MA Court Officials Increasing Numbers
The Northeast Region has substantially strengthened its cadre of court officials recently, the result of two Umpire Clinics held in the past several weeks with 12 new trainees.  Both clinics took place in the Boston area, one at the Maugus Club in Wellesley run by Lily Lai and the other at the Gut ‘n Feathers Club in Marblehead coordinated by Arthur Schwartz.    [more...]
